Merry Christmas

Christmas time at Mom & Rod's is always great! We've all had PLENTY of "Christmas food" so we opt for something different and do personalized pizzas. Each person gets to decorate their own crust with a variety of choices........two different kinds of cheeses, bell peppers, pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, garlic, sausage, olives, jalapenos, pizza sauce, and more.

We even got the girls in their little aprons to help us out!

Mom and I had a great time in the kitchen. We decided to make up our own dessert. Vanilla oreos dipped in melted white chocolate and rolled in chopped pecans.

We enjoyed being together (I only wish my hubby could have been there!), visiting, and watching the girls open their gifts.

The girls got some great new things! We all spent the night which was super fun and made me feel like a kid again. We woke up to Chocolate Toast breakfast (recipe coming sometime later. It is the best.thing.ever.) and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus.

Fun for Mommy

To me, one of the funnest things about being a mom is getting together things for their friends. Both of my girls attend a preschool and both have classroom parties tomorrow! Yay!
For Madysan's class I signed up to bring cookies. Of course I first went to Pinterest to see what I could find in the "adorable Christmas cookie section," and I stumbled upon Reindeer cookies! How cute! Pretzels for antlers, brown morsels for eyes, and a red morsel nose! Mady even helped me put the "antlers" on as she snuck several bites of cookie dough. ;)
Next came the "gift bags" for her little friends. Not much, but simple & sweet, each friend got a candy cane, a marshmallow snowman, and a jingle bell. All tied off with Christmas ribbon and an ornament. I tried to put pink or purple jingle bells for all the little girls and blue or green for the boys but I ran out so a few little ones got good 'ole gold or silver but I'm sure they won't mind.
For Ashlan's class I signed up to bring the juice. Of course for me, it needed to be Christmas themed :) so green juice it is! A lemon-lime flavor I'm sure the sweet little toddlers will love! For her friends I kept it way more simple but they are so young that it was the right move. A box of Christmas M&M's with a precious tiny sparkly bow for them to enjoy.
Ah, the joys of motherhood! I was definitely meant for this job & lovin' every minute!

Spotlight on Madysan Blayke

Born July 20,2009 looking just like her daddy and bringing so much joy into our lives, our sweet first born was here! Her given name is Madysan but also goes by "Mady Blayke" or "Mady."
She is full of energy, full of life and knows what she wants! She loves all things girl but is a rough & tough little lady who doesn't mind dirt and could live outside. She is a daddy's girl but has a sweetness for her momma too. She enjoys being a big sister, loves to color, loves to play dress-up, enjoys playing on her new swing set, and has a love for gymnastics. She has been an amazing person to watch grow and Josh & I feel blessed beyond words to be a part of her life!

The last answer made me laugh and tear up! I hope to do this every year and see how answers change.
The last thing I want to share is a prayer she prayed recently:
"Thank you for Jesus, Daddy ,Duley (our dog), my animals, my dress-up clothes, Meeps & Peeps, my birthday, my baby kitty, Gangie, Juby, bubba Hiney (my nephew Haiden), Duley (again), Bessie Bell (our Great Dane we gave away), Bessie Bell new home, ReeRee & Poppa."
