'Tis the Season!

So glad to finally have our Christmas decorations up! We were waiting on Josh to be home so he could be a part of it all so it is officially Christmas time in our home! How exciting this is!! This is absolutely my favorite time of year (as it is for so many! )
I let my two princesses help decorate the tree. I did the top as dad handed out the ornaments for Mady & Ashlan to put where they pleased. About half way through I realized that about 85% of the ornaments were in one bundle at the bottom of the tree! Haha!! I had to explain to MB about dispersing evenly but I don't think she's gotten that concept yet! ;)

With Christmas music playing and a fire blazing in the fireplace, we made family memories! Baby sister tired out on us a little early so I finished the night reading MB the story of the birth of Jesus. While its fun to talk about Santa, his sleigh, reindeer, etc. we feel it is of utmost important that our girls know the REAL meaning of Christmas! Mady had a lot of questions about Mary & Joseph and loved hearing how the Savior of the world was born!
I thank God each and every day for this absolutely amazing family that I am so blessed to be a part of!
Memories in the making...Christmas 2012!

(Please excuse the quality, or lack there of, in the photos. These are all mobile uploads and my husband was also taking the pics which probably didn't help any, lol!)

Recipe Sharing!

It's on Pinterest and called a "cheeseball." I made it for Josh's family's Thanksgiving and they looooved it! Even referred to it as "dessert crack!" Lol! I even had the most amazing little helper! ;)
1 pkg Cream Cheese (8oz at room temp)
1 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup peanut butter (not all-natural)
3 tbsp brown sugar
3/4 cup milk chocolate chips
3/4 cup peanut butter chips
Graham cracker sticks for dipping

1. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, peanut butter, and brown sugar until well blended.
2. Place mixture on plastic wrap. Bring up all 4 corners and twist at top to make a ball shape. Freeze for 1 hr 30 min
3. Place chocolate and peanut butter chips on flat plate. Roll ball through chips, pressing chips into ball if necessary.
4. Wrap plastic wrap around ball and freeze for 2hrs. Can be frozen overnight but thaw 20-30min before serving. Serve with graham cracker sticks and enjoy! :)

Black Friday Returns!

Well this was my 2nd year shopping Black Friday with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and a few friends! Thank God for my sweet momma who kept my girls all night so I could catch some great deals! We first hit up Walmart where I got $5.00 Barbies, $5.00 books, and 1/2 off of a Color Wonder Activity kit! Next was Toys R Us where I got an art easel my mom wanted for $40.00 off the original price and a princess delux set my mom also wanted for MB for $20.00 off. Then we headed to Target where I found the Barbie Dreamhouse I was searching for! Original price was $174.00 and I got it for $139.00. We hit up several other stores and got great deals including a $50.00 name brand sweater for $35.00 and $30.00 3-piece pajama set for $12.00! We had a good time & saved a lot of money! I finally layed my head on a pillow at 7am. One more hour and I would have been up for 24hrs straight. Not something I'm used to doing. I slept from 7-11 then headed home with the girls. I am not too tired at the moment (think I'm still super pumped up about all my deals!) but I'm sure it will be an early night for me. Hoping to be in the bed by 8:00pm! Really hoping my girls will want to go to bed a bit early tonight. We'll see how that goes........ ;)

Craft time!

Christmas is right around the corner and The Laney household loooooves this holiday! Thanks to Pinterest I found some cute holiday crafts to do with the girls. Here we are making "Mistletoes!" One for each set of grandparents and one for Josh and I to keep. Perfect weather for an outdoor craft! :)
P.S.- please excuse the way I look. A day at home = no make-up for Mommy ;)

Tinkerbell Night

My dear friend Jessica surprised my girls with the movie Tinkerbell. Mady Blayke has been wanting to see this movie for a while now so needless to say, she was excited!! After dinner the girls got a bubble bath & some cozy pjs on. While I was getting them ready for bed, dad was setting up the blow-up mattress in the living room for a 'Laney girls slumber party!' Warm by the fire, the girls got comfy and enjoyed their new movie!
I LOVE family time!! :)))

Daddy's home!

Josh is away from us for several days at a time, due to his work schedule. When he comes home we are sooooo excited to see him!!! Here you can see just how happy the girls are to see their daddy walk through the door. And likewise, Josh can't get enough of them either! :)

My Laney Girls

Well this is my official first blog post! Thought I would start out by introducing my awesome little ladies!
Ashlan is seen here trying on her hair piece for her Aunt Jaci's wedding. Seriously, how cute is she?!??!!!
We were at the in-laws after church. They have a great backyard and my girls love to be outside!
You can see my sweet Mady Blayke here lovin' on Gangie's new kitty! She loooooves this cat! I can already see the "little mommy" coming out
in her. She is so caring and loving! Here Ashlan is also enjoying the swingset :)
