Blankets for my kiddos

It's been a while since I've made a post. Been kinda quiet around the Laney household (rare!). But it gave me some time to make some blankets for the girls. I bought some incredibly soft & comfy material a few weeks ago and was excited to finally start making the blankets.
My cousin gave me her old sewing machine (thank you Shana!) which is amazing! I am still learning/self-teaching so I have a long way to go. But making little things like blankets give me some practice :)
I have one little girl who loves purple & all things princess so she got the purple & princess material. My other little girl loves Dora so she got the pink & Dora material. I even had material left over so I made their little dolls "mini blankets".......silly, yes but the girls loved it!
So the finished product?? Well......they are useable blankets made out of cute material but it just proved I need more practice and improvement. There are mistakes that are visible to me but my sweet girls don't mind....or even notice!

Bunk beds

I am soooooo excited about getting our girls bunk beds!! I am, however, very picky about what kind of bunks. I don't want anything too high and I would like a lighter color wood and/or girly pattern. These are the ones I have found that I like so far. We won't be getting these beds until summer but I am shopping around early so I can find good reviews and the best price! If you have any advice on purchasing bunk beds, please share! :)

Hidden Treasures

We spent a beautiful Saturday at my mom & Rod's this weekend. I loaded up the girls in the double stroller and went for a walk! We saw a yard sale and decided to check it out. Lord knows I don't need anything but I decided to see if there were any "hidden treasures." I spend a total of $3.50 and found a mirror that I plan to paint pink and possibly distress for the girls room and some "vintage" (?) contact paper. Not sure what to do with it yet but I'm sure I can find a use for it eventually.
My mom also gave me a frame with some family sentimentals that my aunt made. Has my great grandmothers door lock and my grandpas cuff link inside. Needs some minor repairs but I'm up for the challenge. Thought it was a really cool piece.
